Travel and transfers

At MountainSun Ltd we do not arrange travel, but we can supply a wealth of information about getting to San Cassiano.  We’ll be happy to discuss travel options with you and provide phone numbers for travel companies.

By air

There are several airports serving the area, but we find Venice the best for flight prices and convenience. And we can easily help you fit in some sightseeing! We also now offer set timed transfers from Innsbruck airport.

Budget airlines Easyjet, Ryanair and BMI operate to Venice airports at unbeatable prices, and there are also scheduled flights and chartered ski flights.  Easyjet alos fly to Innsbruck.

Please contact us to find out which airline flies from where in the UK.  Flights often cost less than £100 per person return, including tax.

San Cassiano is approximately 1.5 hours from Innsbruck airport, & 2.5 hours from Venice and Treviso airports.  Other airports in the region are Verona (3 hours), Brescia (2.75 hours), Trieste (3.5 hours), Munich (3.5 to 4 hours), & Milan (over 4 hours).

Sunday Transfers  - £20 p/p each way

VENICE
OUT –collection from Marco Polo airport around 17:00 (fits perfectly with Easyjet from Gatwick), we can usually collect from Treviso slightly earlier
RET – morning return departing around 08:00 (suitable for flights after 12:30, or for Venice sightseeing for guests returning on later flights)
INNSBRUCK
OUT –collection between 11:00 & 12:30
RET – morning return departing around 07:15 (suitable for flights after 10:45)

We can arrange transfers with alternative timings from £25 p/p each way (subject to availability).

Sightseeing in Venice

Our early morning return coach provides the opportunity for a day’s sightseeing in Venice for those taking evening flights. We can provide information about left luggage and transport in Venice.
If you’d like to add a night or two in Venice on to your ski trip, we can provide details of hotels in Venice that have been recommended by other guests.

By Road

The distance from Calais is approx 800 miles (1,280 km). The journey is through Germany (no speed limit, no tolls!), and is motorway to within 25 miles of Albergo Frohsinn. Accommodation en route is from £25 per night including breakfast and dinner. We’ll be happy to supply suggested routes. Overnight Motorail is possible between Dusseldorf & Innsbruck if you want to relax for part of the journey.
